What I've learnt:
After analysing a number of trailers of different genres, I have noticed a trend in the stereotypes, giving us an insight into what to include in our own trailer. Firstly, I discovered that music and sound effects are very important in making a suspenseful and unique trailer. For example the use of a build up of sounds, then cutting to a silence creates a very atmospheric feel and is frequently used before the typical "jump scare". Also I noticed that films particularly of the horror genre include a lot of black flashes, which are used to distort the view of the audience and leaving them to guess what is happening. These are all features we've discussed previously and would like to include within our trailer.
My Trailer Analysis:
Scream 4
The Orphanage
Sinister
Alien
